If you’re looking for a realistic wig for a Sue Storm wig cosplay, look no further! HerWigCloset’s new Sue wig was made specifically for Sue Storm’s character in The Fantastic Four: First Steps movie. This style is an ash blonde lace front wig that falls below the shoulders and is made with heat-resistant fibers for safe and easy restyling. If you’d like to see more of this wig, you can click here to go to the listing. However, if you’d like to stay and see how to style this wig, keep reading!

Although this wig is good to wear right out of the bag, some styling is needed in order to achieve Sue’s distinctive hair swoop. But don’t worry! All that’s needed is some volume at the front and top of the wig. Watch the tutorial below to see how it's done or read the transcript for all the directions in one place.

Edited Transcript of the Tutorial:

Step 1: Add volume to the top of the wig.
Separate a 1 inch- wide strip of hair along the side of the parting line. Secure it to the side of the wig to come back to later. Then separate another inch-wide strip of hair along the side of the first separated section. Hold the hair straight out and with a blowdryer, apply heat to the first 5 inches of hair until it’s very warm to the touch (be careful not to burn your fingers). Avoid heating the entire length of hair because that would straighten out the waves. Then cool the hair down while holding it in the same straight-out position (we use a plastic board to fan the hair, nothing fancy!) until there are no traces of heat left. Repeat these steps for the next section of hair

Step 2: Add the swoop at the hairline.
Use a comb to lift the hair at the hairline upward and keep the hairs from flying away. Apply heat to the hair roots, and keep the comb angled for your ideal hair swoop shape. Again, stop applying heat when the hair is very warm to the touch (be careful again not to burn your fingers). Keep the comb in place while you’re cooling the hair down (this will help the hair keep its shape. You can also use your fingers to hold the hair in place when it’s cool enough).

Step 3: Add volume to the other side of the parting line
Separate a ½-1 inch wide section of hair along the other side of the hair part and apply heat. Then cool the hair completely as you did before

Step 4: Add a swoop to this hairline
Apply heat to hair roots, using the comb to keep the hair in place. Cool the hair completely before removing the comb

Final touches:
Tidy the hair by spritzing with water and gently combing. You can put your fingers in the hair swoop to keep the hair tall while you brush. And you’re done!
