- Can I modify or cancel my order?
- Yes. Only if the order is still in processing and haven’t been shipped. Once it’s shipped, the order can’t be modified or canceled. Please reach out to us immediately if you need to modify or cancel any orders.
- What materials are utilized to make the human hair extensions and wigs at Her Wig Closet?
- We only use authentic 100% remy human hair for our human hair wigs and extensions which means all the cuticles are intact and flowing in the same direction. This allows the hair to feel smooth and silky and it also helps prevent tangling and shedding. There are absolutely no synthetic or animal hair blended into any of our human hair wigs and extensions.
- How are textures made with Her Wig Closet human hair wigs & extensions?
- We use a steaming process with long curling rods. We find that this process is the best way to maintain the integrity of the hair, and also gives the best results.
- Can I color your human hair wigs & extensions?
- Our hair wigs and extensions are made from high quality human hair, so you can color or tone the hair just as you would color your natural hair, We do NOT recommend to bleach the hair, keep in mind that chemically treating your extensions may alter the texture of them. (When color any lace products, we recommend you not bleaching the knots. Any bleaching damages the integrity of the hair and bleaching the knots can lead to more than normal shedding.)
- How long does Her Wig Closet human hair wigs last?
- With proper maintenance and using high quality hair care products, you can use Her Wig Closet human hair wigs for 2 years or more. Human hair wigs require more care than our own natural hair. Always use sulfate-free shampoo and conditioner as well as moisturizing leave-in conditioner to keep the hair feeling healthy and smooth. Most tangling and shedding issues come from not properly maintaining the hair extensions.
- How long does Her Wig Closet human hair extensions last?
- With proper maintenance and using high quality hair care products, you can use Her Wig Closet human hair extensions for one year or more. Hair extensions require more care than our own natural hair. Always use sulfate-free shampoo and conditioner as well as moisturizing leave-in conditioner to keep the hair feeling healthy and smooth. Most tangling and shedding issues come from not properly maintaining the hair extensions.
- Can I swimming with hair extensions or wigs?
- We don't recommend it, sand and chemicals can cause the hair to dry out to cause tangling issue and shorten the lifespan of the products.
- Can I perm my human hair wigs & extensions?
- Since Her Wig Closet hair extensions are made from high quality human hair, you can perm the extensions. However, we do not recommend it as the hair may not bounce back to its original texture due to the damage to the integrity of the hair in the perming process.
- Can I treat my human hair wigs & extensions like my natural hair?
- Yes you can, but it does require more care and attention. Since wigs and extensions doesn’t have natural oils as your own natural hair. Using sulfate-free and leave-in conditioner is vital to keep your wigs and extensions healthy.
- How often should I wash my human hair wig?
- We recommend you washing it after 5 to 8 wears. Please refer to our human hair wig cleaning guide.
- If I were to wash my own hair at home, what should I use?
- If you're going to wash your hair at home, we recommend using a sulfate-free shampoo and leave-in conditioner. Let wigs air dry using a ventilated wig stand.
- I’m having some problems with my hair, what do I do?
- Be sure you are following all the prior hair care steps to ensure that your hair remains in the best condition possible. If you are experiencing any shedding or tangling be sure to brush through the hair starting at the bottom and working your way up. Be gentle in areas where the hair is attached to the lace. Wash the hair with a sulfate-free shampoo and conditioner, and apply a leave-in conditioner or moisturizer.
- What products should I use with my hair?
- Always use salon, sulfate-free products. Use a moisturizing leave-in conditioner and/or oil to keep your hair moisturized and healthy to prevent tangling and shedding.
- What’s a mono wig?
- It comes with a hand-tied mono top cap, constructed to simulate natural hair growth. The remaining part of the wig cap is composed of a stretch net for breathability and comfort.
- What is a lace front wig?
- Lace front wig refers to the construction of the wig cap. The front part of the wig cap is lace and the remaining portion is a stretchable net with wefted extensions sew on. The lace in the front makes it look as the hair is coming out of your roots. It simulate a natural hairline and it’s more breathable. Lace fronts wigs comes in both human hair and synthetic fibers.
- How do I wear a lace front wig?
- Before putting on the wig. Here’s a few prep steps to take. First, pin your hair up using bobby pins. Then use a wig cap to hold down your hair. We recommend using a wig cap even if you’re bald, it’ll help with friction and provides extra security for the wig to stay on. Next, line up the front hairline of the wig with your own hairline. Once it’s lined up, pull the back of the wig over your head. Style as needed. (Note: Most wigs comes with combs and adjustable straps inside the wig cap to make it securely sit on your head.)
- What is the difference between human hair wigs and synthetic wigs?
- The initial difference is the price. Human hair wigs are typically much more expensive than synthetic wigs. Human hair wigs offers more versatility such as coloring the wig, using high heat tools, and so forth. Synthetic wigs are more affordable and comes in much more different styles and colors.
- If purchases a human hair wig that’s on the cheap side, you may test if it's blended with synthetic fiber. One way to test if it’s a blend is use a flat iron at 400-450 degrees and see if the hair melts.
- How often should I wash my synthetic wig?
- It all depends on how you wear your wig and what type of styling products used on the wig. In general, synthetic wigs should be washed anywhere between 6-8 wears.
- Can I use heat tools on my synthetic wig?
- Yes. Our wigs are made with heat resistant fibers. We suggest using heat 250°F or lower to avoid potentially damaging the fibers. It’s best to use heat tools that allow you to control the temperature.
- How long does synthetic wigs last?
- The life of the wig depends on how you use and care it. Maintenance is the key. If kept well, it can last 6 months to one year.
- Can I treat synthetic fibers like your own hair?
- Synthetic fibers doesn’t have the natural oils your natural hair does. Also lace is a delicate material. So extra care should go into wearing wigs of either human hair or synthetic hair.
- How do I store my synthetic wig when I’m not wearing it?
- Never store your wig when it’s wet or damp. Mold can develop if you do so. Make sure your wig is fully dry. Wrap it up in a hair net and place in a sealable plastic bag or a box.
- What’s the density of the wigs?
- The wig density is 150%. We have found it’s the best density that gives your a full look without it weighing and feeling heavy while wearing.
- Would it look natural on me?
- Yes. We use a number of techniques to make our synthetic wigs. The lace simulate the look as if your hair is naturally growing out of your scalp. We use high grade heat resistant synthetic fibers. The fibers are not shiny like costume wigs. We have years of R&D behind our wigs to bring to you the best and the most natural looking products.
