Last Minute Halloween Costume Shopping Ideas
Running out of time to find a Halloween costume? Don’t worry! Check out these easy-to-make costume ideas. These classic looks can be made with items that you likely already have at home or are easily accessible. Plus, we have suggestions for wigs to elevate your look! Let’s dive right in.
Party Animal
Pair an animal print dress with a party hat, and party blower for a cute “party animal” look. For extra flair, wear animal ears or draw whiskers around your nose with eyeliner.
Wigs we recommend: Since there are several classic animals to use for this costume, we’ll suggest different wigs according to each animal’s coloring.
• Leopard: Chloe, Alina, Elisa. These multi-toned wigs match the shades in a leopard’s coat
• Zebra print: Karlie, Ororo, Opal. These wigs are all silver or white with dark roots.
• Lion (Beige dress): Avery, Amelie, Erin. For this look we chose strawberry blonde to ginger toned wigs to stand in for a lion’s mane.
Witch
Go with a simple black dress and a witch’s hat. There should be no shortage of witch hats in costume stores around this time of year so finding one should be a breeze. For extra detail grab a black cat stuffed animal or cinnamon broom and you’re good to go!
Wigs we recommend: Our suggestion is to choose a wig that suits the type of witch you’re dressing up as. Long wavy wigs like our Rooney or Monica wig can add mystique and elegance to your costume. A short wig like Avery or Danielle adds a touch of cuteness. If you’d like a spookier look, we recommend brushing the wig out to add more frizz.
Pumpkin
An orange shirt with a green hat or wig are the base for this simple but recognizable costume. Cut out black triangles and a large black crescent moon shape for the pumpkin’s eyes and mouth. Take pieces of tape and roll them with the sticky side facing out. Use these to adhere the shapes to your shirt without the tape showing.
Wigs we recommend: Cadie or Aine are cute options if you’re going with a green hat. Adding a pop of orange color to your hair can round out the pumpkin look and add some whimsy to your night. If you'd rather skip the hat, our green Polaris wig is a great option.
Devil
Wear a red dress with some devil horns and accessorize with a mini pitchfork. Devil horns and pitchforks are another easy-to-find staple around halloween time.
Wigs we recommend: Pair this look with a red wig like Aria, Aitana, and Amaya. Aria is a fun and simple wavy hair wig with bangs. She's a great option for cute devlish look. Both Aitana and Amaya can be glamorous additions to a devil costume and can easily be restyled according to your needs. They are both lace front wigs with free parting lines and can be restyled using hot tools.
Princess
Wear your most gorgeous frilly dress and pair it with a costume tiara for a princess look. Throw on some jewelry to complete the set.
Wigs we recommend: Princesses are known for their long voluminous hair. For this reason, we suggest our Ines, Irina, and Bianca wigs for a long blond Rapunzel look.
Ghost
A classic ghost costume requires only a white sheet and a pair of scissors to cut eye holes into the fabric. However, walking around with a sheet over your head can be tedious and stuffy. We suggest cutting a hole in the middle of your sheet so you can wear it like a poncho instead. Pair this with a white beanie or wig to complete the look!
Wigs we recommend: We have several white wigs that can suit this look! Go with a short wig like Odessa for a cute bob style. Long wigs like Orla, Marlon, and Odelia can add a touch of both fun and elegance to your costume.
Scarecrow
A flannel, overalls, and a big straw hat are all you need for this costume. Finish off the look with rosy cheeks and stitch marks along the mouth.
Wigs we recommend: Go for a blonde wig to match the color of straw. We suggest our Gwen and Caroline wig if you prefer shorter wigs and our Abigail wig if you prefer longer locks.
